Indiana Fever forward Temi Fagbenle continues to be out with a foot injury and will not play against the Chicago Sky on Sunday. As per Indiana coach Christie Sides, she is up for a re-evaluation in the upcoming days. This will be the two teams' second WNBA game this season, as the Fever got a narrow 71-70 win at home on May 31.
Temi Fagbenle hasn’t played since May 29 when Indiana lost 88-82 to the LA Sparks. The forward had six points, seven rebounds, one steal and a block in the loss. Besides Fagbenle, the Fever will also be without Damiris Dantas. She has been dealing with an ankle injury and hasn't featured in a game yet in 2024.
All games involving Indiana and the Sky receive more attention as they place Caitlin Clark against Angel Reese. They are arguably two of the most popular rookies in recent WNBA history with well-documented NCAA rivalry. After Clark got one over Reese in the two teams’ first game of the regular-season series, it will be interesting to see how the Chicago forward responds.
What happened to Temi Fagbenle?
Fagbenle sustained a left foot injury in the game against the Sparks. She was anticipated to miss two to three weeks at the time, so it's very likely that she will return to the team soon.
