Jewell Loyd is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA. She was drafted first overall in the 2015 WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm and played 10 seasons for them before getting traded in January 2025. Known as the “Gold Mamba,” a nickname given by Kobe Bryant, she won the 2015 WNBA Rookie of the Year. Loyd has also played overseas in leagues across Europe, China, Korea, Turkey, and Spain for teams like Galatasaray and Perfumerías Avenida. In her 10-year WNBA career, Loyd has played 327 regular-season, scoring 5,536 points with 1,189 rebounds, 1,052 assists, and 389 steals.

At Notre Dame, she scored 1,909 points, grabbed 634 rebounds, and made 273 assists in 112 games across three seasons. Loyd is also a two-time WNBA champion (2018, 2020), a 2023 WNBA scoring leader, and a 6-time All-Star. She won All-Star MVP in 2023. She has received multiple All-WNBA honors including First Team once in 2021 and Second Team twice in 2016 and 2023.
