In her second WNBA season in 2024, Jordan Horston has distinguished herself as one of the best perimeter defenders in the league, accumulating close to 50 steals and over 25 blocks as of September 2024. Horston has also represented the United States at both the FIBA U17 Women's World Cup and the FIBA Americas U16 Women's Championship. Jordan Horston attended the University of Tennessee, where she played for their Lady Volunteers basketball team for four years from 2019 to 2023. As a freshman in 2019-20, Horston made an immediate impression by earning a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team, showcasing her two-way versatility and playmaking ability. Her 143 assists and 4.6 assists-per-game average ranked second all-time among freshmen at Tennessee. As a sophomore, Horston's role evolved as she had strong performances in the NCAA Tournament.

The 2021-22 collegiate season was a breakthrough year for Horston. Despite an injury-shortened campaign, Horston led the team in scoring (16.2 ppg) and recorded 12 double-doubles. Horston's senior season culminated in winning multiple honors, including All-SEC First Team and WBCA All-America Honorable Mention. Horston concluded her collegiate career with 1,445 points, 731 rebounds, 455 assists, and 109 blocks, becoming one of only two Lady Vols to surpass 1,000 points, 700 rebounds, and 400 assists. She holds the record for the most career double-doubles among all true guards at Tennessee, with 21. Additionally, Horston is also No. 8 in career 20-plus point scoring efforts with 17. She joined Dawn Marsh (1984-88) as the only UT player to lead the program in assist average for all four years of their careers. In the 2021-22 season, she averaged 9.39 rebounds, which ranks No. 6 all-time by a Lady Vol and No. 3 by a Tennessee junior. She led Tennessee to three NCAA Tournament appearances. Jordan Horston High School

Horston attended Columbus Africentric High School in Columbus, Ohio, where she developed into a star player. In her junior year (2017-18), Horston was instrumental in leading Africentric Early College to a 27-3 record, the City League title, and another state championship. Horston's senior year (2018-19) was particularly noteworthy. She again led her team to a state title, but her performance in the state championship game was particularly amazing because she dropped 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists stat line while recovering from a 102-degree fever the day before, as per her college roster page.

During Horston’s senior year at Africentric Early College, many media outlets such as espnW, HoopGurlz, and ProspectsNation.com, made her a five-star recruit and no. 1 guard in the nation.
