LA Sparks vs Phoenix Mercury injury reports for June 28 | 2024 WNBA season

The Los Angeles Sparks will have to cope with injuries to multiple players as they travel on Friday to a well set-up Phoenix Mercury team who are fourth in the WNBA Western Conference. What was once looking like a promising season for the Sparks has seen them towards the bottom of the league.

The Mercury have won four of their last six games, so an upturn in form was much needed after 107-92, 70-47, 81-78 and 95-71 losses to to the Washington Wings, Connecticut Sun, New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx respectively threatened to derail Nate Tibbetts’ troops. They will look to build on their recent positive results and performances against a depleted Sparks team at the Footprint Center.

By contrast, Curt Miller’s side are stricken by injuries, which have undoubtedly affected their momentum at a crucial time of the season. The coach won't be looking to use that as an excuse, though, and ensure that available players are fully charged because the Sparks will need an almighty effort to end a run of six defeats.
