Following the 87-77 trashing, the Las Vegas Aces have a huge task to level the best-of-five WNBA semifinal series against the New York Liberty in front of a raucous New Barclays Center crowd on Tuesday.

The Liberty put on a quality showing to snatch a crucial victory thanks to Breanna Stewart's 34 points and Sabrina Ionescu's 21 points, giving them a slight advantage heading into Tuesday’s game.

Sandy Brondello’s women have not lost a game against the Aces this season. They will be looking to add to that tally once again to make it to the WNBA finals and try to attain the coveted glory at the first time of asking.

On the other side, the Aces are struggling to find their best form, and they will be banking on their familiar surroundings to provide the edge they need.

A'ja Wilson scored 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting on Sunday night but faced constant double and triple teams. The rest of the Aces' four scored significantly below their season averages. Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray combined to go just 8-for-23 from the field, including 2-for-10 from distance. Gray was also limited to just one assist, which is only the third time since she joined the Aces that she has been held to a single dime.

With their three-peat dreams hanging in the balance, a win will prove crucial, and Becky Hammon’s troops will leave nothing on the court on Tuesday.

Becky Hammon is expected to have her full squad available and will be expected to select an unchanged side for the fourth consecutive time in the postseason.

Wilson will continue to lead the line along with Chelsea Gray, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young and Kiah Stokes.

Similarly, the Liberty have no fresh injuries coming into the game, so they could field a similar starting lineup to the one that won at the weekend.

The likes of Kayla Thornton, Leonie Fiebich, Jonquel Jones, Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart could all feature in the starting lineup.

Las Vegas Aces vs New York Liberty: What to expect

Underdog is not a position Aces are used to being in. Whether they like it or not, they will have to accept the tag, at least in this series. The Liberty will be expected to have more possession and try all the tricks to put the Aces to the sword as early as possible.

Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones and Sabrina Ionescu will be key, with their flowing combinations and carrying ability likely to create more attacking moments. Given the difficulties that they faced in Game 1, a win here would be a significant turnaround, but the hosts are unlikely to find room for such sentiment.
