Monique Billings attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In the 2014-15 season, Billings had a great freshman year as she led the Bruins in field goal percentage and ranked second in blocks and rebounding. Billings earned a spot on the Pac-12 Honorable Mention All-Freshman Team. In the 2015-16 season, Billings again led the Bruins in rebounds and blocks, setting a single-season record at UCLA for blocks with 56. Billings was honored as an All-Pac-12 player.

The 2016-17 season saw Billings continuing her dominant performance, as she was named to the All-Pac-12 team and the All-Defensive Team. In her final season, Billings played in all 35 games for UCLA, scoring double figures in 31 games. Billings led the Pac-12 in rebounding and double-doubles and was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week twice. Over the four years, Monique Billings became only the third player in UCLA history to surpass 1,500 points and 1,000 rebounds. Billings finished her career as UCLA’s all-time leader in blocks. On the academic side of Monique Billings' college career, she pursued a major in Sociology at UCLA.

Monique Billings attended Santiago High School in Corona, California. Under the guidance of head coach David Wolfe, she lettered four years as a forward on the basketball team. In her sophomore year (2012-13), Billings led her team to an outstanding 31-2 record and a perfect 14-0 in league play. During her junior year, Billings helped lead Santiago High School to a CIF-SS Division IAA championship.

In her senior year (2013-14), Monique Billings averaged 18.3 points, 12.7 rebounds, 3.1 blocks, 2.1 steals, and 1.5 assists per game for Santiago High School. Her performances earned her first-team All-Big VIII League and All-CIF honors in both her junior and senior years. She ended up No. 17 by Prospects Nation, No. 20 by PB Media, No. 27 by Full Court, and No. 37 by ESPN’s HoopGurlz as per her college roster page. Billings was an elite athlete in track and field as well, winning the league high jump title three times and setting a Santiago High School record with a jump of 5 feet 8 inches.
