The New York Liberty and LA Sparks round off their season series on Wednesday at the Crypto.com Arena. The Liberty came out on top in the teams' previous three meetings, including a 93-80 win on Jun. 20 and a 98-88 win on Jun. 22 at home, followed by a 103-68 blowout win on the road on Aug. 15.
The 26-5 Liberty are the favorites to complete the season series sweep after going on a 5-1 run to start the post-All-Star and Olympic break stretch. They seemingly haven't missed a beat, riding behind leaders Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu's brilliance.
Meanwhile, the Sparks are yet to claim a win in that stretch, going 0-6. They came within touching distance of their seventh win of the season in Sunday's 113-110 loss to the Dallas Wings. LA would hope it can salvage some pride against New York at home to avoid a season series sweep.
Coach Curt Miller will expect Dearica Hamby and rookie Rickea Jackson to provide the goods in this potentially lopsided matchup for the shorthanded Sparks.
