Angel Reese made quite the buzz in the basketball community after she said her WNBA salary wasn't enough to cover her $8,000 rent in the Windy City. Barbara Corcoran has now chimed in on the Chicago Sky star's statements.
The 'Shark Tank' star, who has a net worth of $100 million according to Celebrity Net Worth, spoke to TMZ about Reese's statements and her WNBA salary.
"No, it's too low on the case, the idea that she can buy something at that salary, it's impossible. $8,000 a month in Chicago, she is lucky she gets a kitchen for it but thank god she not moving to New York, here you pay $12,000 for the same apartment. So could be worse," Corcoran said.
The reporter then asked the real estate mogul if Angel Reese was getting a good deal in the Windy City.
"It's a decent deal I guess, I haven't seen the apartment but what I can tell you is that girl is gonna make a lot of money in the long haul, definitely!" Corcoran added.
Angel Reese signed a multi-year extension with Reebok after releasing her signature sneaker and apparel line with the brand in September. After signing the extension, Reese clapped back at the criticism she received for not being able to afford rent.
Rapper Cam'ron tears apart Angel Reese's rent calculations
Rapper Cam'ron stepped forward and expressed his opinion on Angel Reese's claim. On the It is What It Is podcast on YouTube, he said:
"I love you, Angel. I'm just telling you, watching the video, and I know you probably having fun, but she's like, 'Yo, the WNBA can't even pay one of my bills. It doesn't cover my rent.' ... Let's do the math. So she says, 74 times 8000. I'm like, that isn't multiplication. You divide. If you're trying to figure that number out."
Angel Reese is set to play in Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier's 3x3 league, "Unrivaled," in January. The league has been clear about its payment policy to its athletes and is reportedly trying to get Caitlin Clark on board with a huge offer.
