The final leg of regular season awards has been released, and fans now know which players made it to the All-WNBA teams. Only 10 players stood out among the rest of the league for the first and second teams. To everyone's surprise, only one rookie made it to the final list.
The All-WNBA First Team was announced earlier on Wednesday. Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx and A'ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces are the only players to dominate the first-place votes, with each player getting 67 votes. The two stars are the only unanimous selections.
New York Liberty's Breanna Stewart received 65 first-place votes and two second-place votes.
2024 Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark represented the Indiana Fever as she received 52 first-place votes to be a finalist in the first team. Clark is the first rookie to be voted into the first team since 2008.
Connecticut Sun's Alyssa Thomas capped off the first team.
Stewie's All-Star teammate Sabrina Ionescu made it to the All-WNBA Second Team. Phoenix Mercury's Kahleah Copper joined Ionescu in the second team. Nneka Ogwumike of the Seattle Storm also made it to the team. Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wings and Liberty's Jonquel Jones wrap up the final five for the second team.
Fans reacted to Clark making it to the All-WNBA First Team
There's no denying that Clark had a great rookie season in the league. She broke records and even impressed the critics with what she did on the court. More importantly, she led the Fever to the postseason. Although it was short-lived, the star rookie still had the chance to experience the intensity of the playoffs.
After her season, many are convinced she's the real deal. She capped off her first season by winning the ROTY award, making the postseason and being voted into the first team. Here are some of what the fans said about it.
