Charlotte Hornets veteran Grant Williams named his best WNBA rookie of all time and it's not Caitlin Clark. After reports came out claiming that the Indiana Fever young star clinched the 2024 Rookie of the Year award, plenty of people showered her with praise.

DraftKings' X/Twitter official account shared a graphic with Clark's stats, saying that CC is the 'best rookie we've ever seen.' Grant Williams saw this post and responded by predicting positive things for Clark's career but picking Candace Parker as the best rookie of all time.

"2nd best*. Love her game and she’ll be an MVP when A’ja decides to hang it up but Tennessee legend Candace Parker won ROTY and MVP in the same season."

Candace Parker debuted in the WNBA in 2008 with the LA Sparks. She played 33 games, averaging 18.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 blocks per game while shooting 52.3% from the field, 42.3% from beyond the arc and 73.3% from the free-throw line.

They went from winning 10 games in 2007 to 20 in 2008, which granted Parker ROY and MVP honors.

As for Caitlin Clark, she played 40 games this season, averaging 19.2 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 8.4 apg and 1.3 spg while shooting 41.7% from the field, 34.4% from deep and 90.6% from the free-throw line. She took the Fever from 13 wins to 20, ending an eight-year playoff drought.

Clark and company were eliminated in the first round of the 2024 postseason, but she made a huge impact on her team and the entire league. It'll be hard to see somebody emulating Candace Parker, but nobody can take anything away from Clark.

Cheryl Miller recalls the moment when Caitlin Clark met 'someone on her side'

Women's basketball legend Cheryl Miller revealed what Caitlin Clark told her the first time they met, recalling that the player was happy to see somebody who supported her.

"I gave her the biggest hug that I could. when she saw me she was like. ‘Oh man, finally someone who’s on my side’. She was getting hit with everything left and right. I just said, ‘I’m so proud of you. Savor this, use this as a formula, but keep being you,'" Miller said in a July interview.

Caitlin Clark has made an impact on the WNBA and she's just getting started. The future is bright for her and the Indiana Fever after a remarkable 2024 season.
