"40 points per game" - Breanna Stewart makes bold prediction about her performance in Unrivaled

Breanna Stewart released the latest edition of the vlog for the highly anticipated Unrivaled league that is set to take place in Miami in January 2025. We are just over a month away from the inaugural season, and with the draft now complete, Stewart made sure to remind everyone that she won't be holding back when she takes the court.

The 2:20 second video titled "We Found Our New Home!" does a great job of promoting the league and walks fans through the housing facilities, workout and hangout areas and the arena where the games will take place. Before signing off, Stewart made a bold prediction about her personal performance at the competition:

"In this soundstage, we'll have a practice court, a weight room, and obviously the main court where I'll be averaging 40 points per game."

Breanna Stewart, along with Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier, are the founders of the league. The two WNBA All-Stars have a close relationship that dates back to their playing days at the University of Connecticut.

They were both members of legendary head coach Geno Auriemma's 2016 NCAA championship team. Since then, Stewart and Collier have competed against each other and both represented the U.S. women's national team at the Olympics.

The Unrivaled league is a 3-on-3 women's basketball tournament that will take place during the WNBA offseason. The competition features six teams with five players on each team's roster.

The games will be played on a smaller court with only seven-minute quarters, which should provide plenty of fast-paced action for the viewers. Unrivaled will take place over an eight week period from January to March.

Some of the most talented players in the world are set to feature at the tournament with Arike Ogunbowale, Angel Reese, Kelsey Plum, Jewell Loyd and Jackie Young some of the big name stars joining Stewart and Collier.

Breanna Stewart is coming off a memorable season that will be remembered fondly by the New York Liberty fanbase for decades to come. The 6-foot-4 forward was instrumental in leading the Liberty to a league-best 32-8 record, and then followed that up by guiding them to the championship where they defeated the Minnesota Lynx in five games.

New Yorkers had to wait a long time to see their WNBA team win a title. The Liberty were one of the eight original members of the league when it was formed in 1997, yet the 2024 championship was the first-ever in franchise history.

For Breanna Stewart, she added a third WNBA title to her impressive resume. The 30-year-old star previously won two championships with the Seattle Storm in 2018 and 2020.
