The WNBA All-Star Weekend is here, and the league has set up an exciting matchup for the annual All-Star Game.

"Team WNBA" will face off against the USA Women's National Team, the same squad that will head to the 2024 Paris Olympics and compete for another gold medal.

Here are five players to watch out for this All-Star Weekend.

#5. A'ja Wilson

Wilson is widely regarded as the best player in the league at the moment and looks to be on track for her third WNBA MVP award. The Las Vegas Aces are surging up the standings, and her 27.2 points per game average currently leads all players.

She will be facing the WNBA squad who are looking to snatch a win against the gold medal favorites. The matchup will also be one of the biggest tests for Wilson and her teammates before they play international teams who are planning to take the gold away from them.

#4. Jonquel Jones

Jones may be looking forward to the match more than anyone else. The 2021 WNBA MVP was born in the Bahamas and plays for the Bosnia and Herzegovina women's national team.

She's said that she's up for the challenge, and really wants to beat the reigning six-time Olympic gold medalists. Jones is also competing in Friday's 3-point contest.

#3. Alyssa Thomas

Thomas is perhaps one of the few players who has a chance of overtaking MVP frontrunner A'ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces. The Connecticut Sun forward will also be playing against her fiancee, DeWanna Bonner, who in her 14th season will play for Team WNBA in the All-Star Game.

As an all-around force on the court, it will also be a preview of what kind of role Thomas will have with the women's national team this summer in Paris.

#2. Angel Reese

Despite still being a rookie, Reese has sprung into the league with tons of popularity. She will look to silence her doubters this All-Star Weekend as she takes on the league's best players. She was surprisingly left off the Olympic team, which has garnered mixed reviews due to her impressive start to the season.

The 22-year-old has already set the league record for consecutive games with a double-double, breaking the previous best of 12 straight games by WNBA legend Candace Parker.

Reese perhaps has the second most set of eyes on her this weekend, and she'll look to prove that her dominance in the paint can be maintained even against the league's best.

#1. Caitlin Clark

All eyes have been on her even before she got drafted, and her fame has not only been the source of league growth but also controversy. One of the biggest stories of the season is Clark being left off the Olympic team, a move that she said didn't bother her. However, Clark's coach said that it's a big source of motivation for her moving forward.

The 2024 top pick will be running point against a team that she was not selected to be a part of. In her last WNBA game, she set the league's all-time record for assists in a single game with 19. She's off to a terrific start to her career, averaging 17.1 points, 8.2 assists, and 5.6 rebounds for the Indiana Fever squad set to make the playoffs.

Last July 14, Clark played against coach Cheryl Reeve of the Minnesota Lynx — also Team USA's coach. It was a hard-fought game where she took over in the 4th quarter to give her team the win. She then appeared to give an extended glance towards the Lynx bench, and perhaps Reeve, after the game.

A big performance from Clark at the All-Star game will surely give fans plenty to talk about.
