A'ja Wilson has a major collaboration coming up with Nike. The shoe and sportswear brand, which is worth $114.99 billion per Forbes, signed Wilson in May this year and is set to release the signature sneaker line of the LV Aces superstar soon.
However, fans wondered if an A'One logo chain would come out with the sneakers as well. A fan asked the Aces star on Threads about the possibility of the jewelry being available along with the sneaker. The reigning WNBA MVP was quick to debunk the speculation.
"Sorry that’s a 1 of 1," Wilson said.
In an Instagram post by Nike in June to hype the logo reveal, Wilson wore a necklace in the shape of her logo, which was what the fan was referring to.
A'ja Wilson's signature Nike sneaker line is called the A'One. It is reported that the LV Aces star was involved in the manufacturing and design process for the sneaker. Wilson had requested the sportswear giant to make her sneakers light and comfortable with great looks.
The logo for Wilson's sneaker line was released a month after Nike signed the two-time WNBA champion. As per Nice Kicks, the logo incorporated strong, bold lines, symbolizing Wilson's strength, and combines elements between an “A” and a star.
Wilson had a great run with the Aces last season. She averaged 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. She led her team to the semi-finals of the WNBA playoffs where the eventual champions, the NY Liberty eliminated them.
A'ja Wilson talks about overcoming self-doubt on the court
A'ja Wilson is arguably the best female basketball player on the planet right now. The Aces star has been a dominant force in the league for the last few years. However, at the end of the day, Wilson is also a human being who goes through moments of self-doubt.
In a recent interview with Nike on Dec. 9, the Aces star talked about overcoming the self-doubt she faces on the court in big moments.
"Sometimes I wish people could see the game through my eyes, because they’d say, ‘A’ja, how are you even successful?’” Wilson said. “Like, I don’t see a face or a jersey. I just see a body. I’m out there thinking, how can I out-skill this body? Okay, they didn’t go for that fake, gotta try something else. That’s when the game starts to be fun. When you’re not dissecting your mind anymore, and you’re dissecting your opponent instead."
A'ja Wilson is currently enjoying the WNBA offseason. Meanwhile, most of her teammates and opponents from the league are gearing up to play in the new 3x3 basketball league, Unrivaled, which starts in January.
