Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson reacted to the rumors of Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan's death as social media has been flooded with reports about it. The rapper, also known as Dequantes Devontay Lamar, was 34 at the time of his alleged death.
The 2024 MVP leading candidate took to X (formerly Twitter) to react to the rumors, writing a four-word message.
"Naahhhhh Not Rich Homie," Wilson posted.
The cause of the death hasn't been discussed yet, and at the time of writing, there is no confirmation that the rapper passed away although rumors have it that he died due to a "bad pill."
Rich Homie Quan had several hits during his career (2012-2024) including "Type Of Way," "Lifestyle," "Blah Blah Blah" and "Walk Thru" among others. He was one month away from turning 35.
It's common to see basketball players enjoy rap music and even have friendships with rappers, such as James Harden with Lil Baby or LeBron James and Steph Curry with Drake. A'ja Wilson seemingly admired Quan and didn't hesitate to share her feelings.
A'ja Wilson attends Bam Adebayo special event in Miami, fueling dating rumors
Since Team USA traveled to Las Vegas for their pre-Olympic camp, A'ja Wilson was linked to one of the members of the men's team, Bam Adebayo. The Miami Heat center was spotted hanging out with the Aces star, sparking dating rumors that have not stopped.
On Wednesday, Wilson attended an event where Adebayo was given the keys to Miami-Dade County. She was acknowledged by the people in charge of the event, and the county's mayor Daniella Levine Cava even introduced her and wondered if she was there to support Adebayo. The two-time WNBA champion just smiled and shrugged her shoulders.
This led to many fan reactions and from Wilson's teammate, Sydney Colson. She made a series of posts on X talking about the event, which added more fuel to the rumors.
Wilson is having a terrific 2024 season, posting remarkable numbers night in and night out although the Aces haven't been as convincing as they were last year.
She is the favorite to win both the MVP and DPOY awards this season and is untouchable, at least for the MVP award. In 32 games this season, Wilson is averaging a league-best 27.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
