A'ja Wilson and the USA Basketball women's team hit the court for the second time in Group C of the Olympic tournament. The veteran center comes off a strong performance against Japan, notching 24 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and four blocks in the 102-76 victory.

Belgium, like Japan, tried to stay close to Team USA in the first half, finishing the second half trailing the North Americans 46-38. Wilson was on a tear today too, recording a double-double in the first half, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Turnovers became an issue today as the WNBA star turned the ball over five times in the first half, leading Team USA in the unflattering stat. Bad handles and bad passes have contributed to her struggles with turnovers.

With another win, Team USA will be closer to making the knockout stage, and Wilson has gotten to work to lead them to the promised land.

The second half presented more domination from A'ja Wilson, who added 13 points and three rebounds to her account. She contributed two assists and three steals while only committed one turnover (six total). She played 33:42 minutes, spending the second-most time on the court for the USA Basketball women's team.

Once again, A'ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart dominated the floor for Team USA. The New York Liberty superstar scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the team to the promised land.

A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart emulate 1988 Olympic record with Team USA

With their performances today, A'ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart became the first players to open an Olympic tournament with consecutive 20-points. Alexa Philippou says that this is the first time this has been done since 1988 when Teresa Edwards did it.

"Breanna Stewart is the first player for the USA women since Teresa Edwards in 1988 to open an Olympics with consecutive 20-point games. She has 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists so far tonight."

As Team USA keeps showing off its power, A'ja Wilson is everything that WNBA and basketball fans love. Pace and power in the attack with a clinical nature in front of basket. Her display today was breathtakingly good and goes to show that her talent in this highly competitive USBWNBT roster. With the knockout round place secured, the leader of the squad, she will will fight tooth and nail, won't stop until they win the gold.
