Aliyah Boston and the Unrivaled players met for the first time on Thursday. The new 3-on-3 league, featuring WNBA players, will start on Jan. 17 and run for three months in Miami. 36 players comprising six teams will battle for the top prize in the inaugural tournament.

Boston shared a glimpse of the event on Instagram and wrote:

“Who’s ready for unrivaled??”

Unrivaled, the league co-founded by WNBA superstars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, has ramped up the anticipation since the opening date was announced in July.

Over the last few months, the league has revealed the names of the players to compete in the tournament. The addition of sharpshooter and New York Liberty champ Sabrina Ionescu has only added to the excitement.

Boston, meanwhile, plays for Vinyl BC under former Chicago Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon. The two-time WNBA All-Star's Unrivaled teammates include Rae Burrell, Jordin Canada, Dearica Hamby, Rhyne Howard and Arike Ogunbowale.

Two of Boston’s Indiana Fever teammates are also playing in the Unrivaled. Lexie Hull is with Rose BC while Katie Louse Samuelson went to Phantom BC. Caitlin Clark begged off from the competition as she wanted to get a full offseason of rest.

Aliyah Boston has already started training for Unrivaled

Aliyah Boston has been sharing glimpses of her training in preparation for the Unrivaled opening. A few days ago, the Indiana Fever posted a clip of Boston working out with new player development coach Keith Porter. The Fever star wrote on X, formerly Twitter:

“Keith is the real deal!!! Great work.”

The workout in the 11-minute clip was quite extensive. Boston executed drills to improve her post moves, mid-range shooting and long-distance efficiency. The WNBA All-Star also worked on her mobility and footwork, which will be crucial in 3-on-3 games.

Napheesa Collier said that the Unrivaled games will be played like usual but with “more spacing.” Based on the workouts, it looks like Boston is ready for the competition to start.
