Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark continues to make headlines even though her season ended early. The league announced its All-WNBA First Team and Clark was part of the group. She was the only rookie among the finalists.
Clark also became the first rookie to make the All-WNBA First Team since Candace Parker in 2008. Clark's teammate, Aliyah Boston, was impressed with this feat and praised her teammate on Instagram.
"Add it to the list," Boston posted, referring to Clark's long list of awards.
A'ja Wilson and Napheesa Collier were the only players unanimously voted on the First Team. Breanna Stewart and Alyssa Thomas also made the cut.
The Second Team, on the other hand, is composed of Sabrina Ionescu, Kahleah Copper, Nneka Ogwumike, Arike Ogunbowale, and Jonquel Jones.
Clark, meanwhile, earned various awards over the course of the season. She became an All-Star, the Rookie of the Year, the assist champion and a member of the All-Rookie team. She finished the season averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists.
Caitlin Clark set to earn extra money after All-WNBA selection
Making any of the All-WNBA teams is impressive and comes with the added bonus of extra cash. Chloe Peterson of IndyStar Sports reported that each player selected for the First Team will be rewarded with $10,300. She added that the Second Team players will get $5,150 each.
Caitlin Clark will earn an incentive on top of her rookie contract. Following her selection as the first overall choice by the Fever, the Iowa standout agreed to a four-year, $338,056 contract.
In her first season, she earned $76,535. The following year, however, her contract will be bumped up to $78,066.
