Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston shared an Instagram story on Thursday featuring her father showing off his bartending skills as she enjoys her offseason. She posted a photo of her dad, Al Boston, serving her a tropical drink from behind the bar.

In the caption of her Instagram story, Aliyah, who recently finished her second season in the league, wrote:

“Best bartender on the island.”

Not much is known about Al Boston, who hails from the Virgin Islands, but Aliyah’s recent post highlighted his impressive bartending skills.

Apart from (allegedly) being a fine bartender, Aliyah's father can also cook. In an article on Just Women's Sports in 2023, Aliyah said she misses her dad's cooking when away from home. When she would go home, Al would make breakfast for her, usually eggs, bread, and sausages.

Aliyah Boston had an impressive sophomore season, averaging 14.0 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 2024. She remained a key player in Indiana's offense, even as Caitlin Clark became its new focal point.

Boston shot 53% from the field in her second season and improved her rebounding and assist numbers from her rookie year.

This offseason, Aliyah has gone viral for her new hairstyle. Last week, she showcased her new caramel-colored braids, which marked a shift from the black with streaks she sported for much of the 2024 WNBA season. She shared pictures of her updated look on Instagram.

She has also been demonstrating her work on her 3-point shooting, having averaged only 0.7 attempts from beyond the arc in her second season, with a shooting percentage of 26.9%.

Aliyah Boston discusses her family’s sports management company

Earlier this year, the Boston family established a sports management company, Parach Resource Management, LLC, based in the Virgin Islands.

Speaking about the company, Aliyah Boston said (per Virgin Islands News Daily):

“There’s so much talent here, they just need the resources, they just need the opportunity, and sometimes it’s just about an open door,” Boston said. “We will be an open door for so many people, for so many families, for so many kids.”

The family-owned company includes Aliyah along with her mother Cleone, father Al and sister Alexis.

“I just want to see more kids from the Virgin Islands being put in places where they can say, ‘Yes, I’m from the Virgin Islands, but I made it here. Yes, I’m from the Virgin Islands, but I was able to accomplish this dream and goal,’” Aliyah said.

Aliyah was the Rookie of the Year in 2023. Her Fever teammate Caitlin Clark won the same award this year.
