Tre-Vaughn Minott, boyfriend of Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston, may not share the same spotlight as the WNBA forward/center, but he is carving out his niche.
In a recent interview with Guillermo Motta Perez on Friday on KATU Sports, Minott opened up about his passions for basketball and music.
Minnot, a senior transfer at Portland State who plays center at the Viking Pavilion, shares another gift in music, a gift he learned from childhood. He is an independent music producer who crafts his beats and can play seven instruments.
"I was brought up in music, and once I got to the seventh grade, I then transitioned into, like, other instruments like the tenor saxophone, the trumpet, the drums, and the bass guitar," Minnot said.
Minnot has been able to incorporate his music into his basketball, a craft he does as part of his pre-game ritual. He spends time developing his sound with music production, a career path he sees himself in one day.
"I try to incorporate it into my pre-game ritual as well,” Minott added. “Before every home game, we'll have shoot-around, and then I’ll go back home and I’ll at least try to, like, start a project just to get, like, you know, just my mind working a little bit.”
Boston and Minnot started dating in 2020 after they met at the University of California. Minnot frequently shows his love for Boston's game. Meanwhile, Boston is gearing up for her third WNBA season as she participates in the Unrivaled league.
