WNBA fans were unhappy after one X (formerly Twitter) user recalled when one of Angel Reese's friends made a very harsh comment about Caitlin Clark's appearance. On Thursday, an individual with the username "@Tera_ekezie" shared two pictures showing that one of Reese's friends, Nabela Idris, commented on the player's Instagram Live after Angel Reese's LSU Tigers secured the 2023 national championship against Clark's Iowa.
"CAITLIN CLARK U LOOK LIKE A MAN OH BYE," Idris wrote at the time.
WNBA fans joined the conversation, once again split between Reese and Clark. Some were unhappy about this comment and how people talk about CC online.
"All Caitlin did was be white and be the best player btw lol wild stuff," one fan said.
"Angel Reese's friend who makes fun of Caitlin's physique should look in the mirror first. Because he has no morals to criticize anyone's appearance," another fan said.
Others hit back at Idris and Angel Reese, criticizing their looks and quality as people.
"They can’t stand Caitlin. Angel can’t stand Caitlin. Mid season Angel realised this whole hatin Clark thing ain’t gonna work out well for Angel, so she did a 180 & now plays nice with Caitlin. I’m to grown to go after angels looks. Her friend tho, the irony 😂😶," one fan said.
"Jumping up when Carter cheap shorted her. And people wonder why people think she’s a s***ty person," another fan said.
Caitlin Clark sets the record straight on relationship with Angel Reese
While their fans insist on trying to pit Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark against each other, the WNBA stars have remained cordial over the years, having mutual respect despite not being the closest friends in the world.
During her interview with TIME Magazine, Clark said she is not best friends with Angel Reese, but they respect each other. Although they have battled for years, the rivalry never transcends the court. Clark questioned why people insisted on creating a rivalry when they didn't even guard each other on the court.
Caitlin Clark made it clear that people have fabricated controversies about her and Reese, thereby getting distracted from the success the duo enjoyed in college (Angel Reese for the LSU Tigers and Clark for the Iowa Hawkeyes) and during the 2024 WNBA season (Reese for the Chicago Sky and Caitlin Clark for the Indiana Fever).
