The WNBA fans on X (formerly Twitter) were not very generous towards the Chicago Sky star rookie Angel Reese after an underwhelming shooting performance this season. One fan posted a video of the Chi-Barbie arriving at the Crypto.com arena for the game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday and accompanied it with a sarcastic caption.
"Angel Reese did all this just to come out and shoot 30%."
In the video, Reese is seen posing for the paparazzi at the arena as she walks towards her locker room. She is wearing an all-black outfit featuring a polo-neck crop top and a skirt. Reese chose plain sandals as her preferred choice of footwear and did her hair in a braided ponytail. She topped off her look with black framed spectacles.
Other fans joined the fray and roasted the Sky rookie for her inefficient scoring in the comment section.
"Needs to spend more time on shooting layups than shooting pictures," @VenomShaft said.
"Angel Reese offensive game is so poor. Wtf. 90 where..," @Lboogie221 said.
"In fairness to Angel Reese, it takes superhuman confidence to carry yourself like a superstar while shooting 30% on layups," @stephen_ire said.
However, not all fans were roasting her, one said that she still won the game.
"Still won the game tho," a fan said.
"Most defensive players are not good at offense. Angel Reese can defend her a** off," one fan said.
"Angel Reese did a whole photo shoot before the game just to come out and go 4/13," @casualtakeking said.
Reese had delivered one of the worst shooting performances in the league against the Sparks at Crypto.com arena on Saturday going 4-13 from the field. However, she secured a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds for the night.
Angel Reese exchanges a hug with Kyrie Irving after beating the Sparks
After the Chicago Sky beat the Los Angeles Sparks, Reese and company were headed towards their locker room. They met with the Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving, who was in attendance to witness the game. Irving was patiently waiting for Reese and company in the tunnel with his daughter.
As soon as the Sky rookie spotted the Mavericks star, she rushed towards him and greeted him with a hug. Reese did not forget about Irving's daughter and hugged her as well. Irving also met with the other Sky stars, including Chennedy Carter and Lindsay Allen.
The Sky secured their first win since the international break was lifted. They initially suffered a loss against the Phoenix Mercury in their first game after the break but found their footing in the Sparks game, securing a 90-86 victory.
