After finishing her best WNBA season, Chennedy Carter is going on an overseas vacation. The Chicago Sky guard announced that she's traveling and 'taking' fans wherever she goes, with a message on Instagram stories.
"actually gonna create vibes like this overseasss taking you guys everywhere i go❤️," she captioned the post.
Carter also shared a snap holding a can of Passionfruit Hibiscus Ginger Ale, which goes for $36 per pack on Petal's site.
Chennedy Carter was one of the highlights of the Chicago Sky this season, going from getting a training camp invite to becoming the best scorer in a matter of months. She played 33 games, averaging 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game, shooting 48.7% from the field and 73.0% from the free-throw line.
She's now a free agent, but considering how well she performed this season, even becoming a serious candidate for the Most Improved Player of the Year, one would assume that the Sky should be interested in retaining her.
After Marina Mabrey was traded, the Sky missed scoring options, and Carter stepped up to try to lead them to the 2024 playoffs.
Chennedy Carter discusses Chicago Sky future
Despite missing the two final regular-season games, Chennedy Carter ended the season on a high, showing off her scoring prowess and demonstrating that she could be valuable for any team in the league.
With Carter being a restricted free agent, the Sky could retain her for 2025 and beyond. She spoke about her future last week, explaining what she's looking for in the league.
“My main goal is always just to be somewhere I’m wanted. I love being here. I enjoyed the season. It was fun. It was special. If Chicago wants me back, I’m interested in coming back," she said, via Julia Pope.
After tumultuous stops at Atlanta and Los Angeles, she joined the rebuilding Sky last offseason.
She proved her value every game, becoming a strong force on offense and a solid defender. Carter earned a lot of respect with her game, but it's time to see if more teams paid attention to what she did and offer her another opportunity.
Sky's GM expressed his willingness to bring her back, as Chennedy Carter's chemistry with Angel Reese was notable, which should help her case.
