Angel Reese denies Funny Marco's advice of learning game from Brittney Griner: "We don't have the same game"

WNBA star Angel Reese welcomed internet sensation Funny Marco for Thursday's episode of "Unapologetically Angel." The two discussed players Reese should look up to in the episode. However, one of Marco's suggestions wasn't entertained by the Chicago Sky forward.

Reese offers a unique style of basketball whenever she's in action on the court. However, Marco thinks she can explore how other players play games and add them to her arsenal. The YouTuber asked the Sky forward which players she believes she can learn from.

"Players that I just -- I don't want to be anybody else," Reese said. "Just add to my game? Players like A'ja [Wilson], Breanna Stewart. Players that played before, Candace Parker and Lisa Leslie. (48:20)

Marco mentioned Phoenix Mercury's big woman, Brittney Griner, after mentioning the players.

"We're not the same position... No, we don't have the same game," replied Reese.

The content creator insisted the two players have similarities in their game. He mentioned how they both do the shimmy from the post. However, Reese said that most post-players do the same move.

"I think every post player does that, maybe you're not watching."

Reese is getting ready for her sophomore season with the Sky. A video of her workout and developing her game was posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Fans react to Angel Reese's offseason workout

Angel Reese is preparing to play basketball competitively once more. For eight weeks in January, she will play in the Unrivaled, a 3x3 league. She'll join other WNBA stars for the inaugural season.

The forward has begun honing her skills in anticipation of the competition. Fans mocked her after a video of her workout went viral.

"Ben Simmons has one of these every off-season," one fan said.

"The form is terrible. No wonder she is so bad," another fan said.

"It’s giving ben simmons after one of his bad seasons 😭😭😂," a fan said.

Other players complimented her work ethic.

"There’s my girl I forgot A R is left yeah lefty’s killing it can’t wait till next season," one fan said.

"Perfect spin on that ball..." another fan said.

"Hope she’s doing some inside shooting. She’s a great hustler," a fan said.

Reese was one of the best rookies in the 2024 WNBA season. In her first season in the league, the Sky rookie averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
