WNBA All-Star forward Angel Reese was glamorous in the pre-game outfit for her debut at the 3-on-3 Unrivaled Basketball League on Friday at the Wayfair Arena in Miami, Florida.
The Chicago Sky player came in with what she described as a combination of items from some of the top global fashion brands. Her outfit included items from Gucci, Chanel and Hermes. She complemented it with diamond-studded accessories.
One of the WNBA players known for their keen fashion sense, Angel Reese recently graced the cover of Vogue magazine solo, making history as the first professional basketball player to do so. It was something she was truly proud of as she said it captured her lifelong passion for both basketball and fashion.
Reese was set to see action on day one of the inaugural season of Unrivaled on Friday, with her Rose Basketball Club taking on Vinyl Basketball Club.
At Rose BC, the former LSU standout is joined by fellow WNBA stars Chelsea Gray (Las Vegas Aces), Brittney Sykes (Washington Mystics), Kahleah Copper (Phoenix Mercury), Azura Stevens (LA Sparks) and Lexie Hull (Indiana Fever).
Their first game opponent, Vinyl, meanwhile, is composed of Aliyah Boston (Fever), Rae Burrell (Sparks), Jordin Canada (Atlanta Dream), Dearica Hamby (Sparks), Rhyne Howard (Dream) and Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas Wings). The team is coached by Teresa Weatherspoon, who was Reese's Sky coach but was fired after just one season in Chicago.
Angel Reese comes into Unrivaled off an impressive WNBA rookie season, where she averaged a double-double of 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds.
Angel Reese high on future of Unrivaled
Angel Reese is excited to be part of the newly formed 3-on-3 Unrivaled Basketball League and is high on its potential for growth moving forward.
The Chicago Sky All-Star shared this during media day on Thursday, highlighting that the league has gained positive response from the players and should continue doing so as more want to become part of the league.
Reese said by way of Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post on X (formerly Twitter):
"It's gonna be hard to get in here. And luckily, I was able to be part of the inaugural season... They've done a great job already in year one, but years down [the line], it's going to be amazing."
Check out what she had to say below:
Unrivaled was co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart (New York) and Napheesa Collier (Minnesota) to provide a viable alternative for women professional players to showcase their stuff on the court and earn good money.
Its inaugural season will run until March 17, including the playoffs. The league features 36 WNBA players spread across six teams, namely, Rose BC, Mist BC, Lunar Owls BC, Laces BC, Phantom BC and Vinyl BC.
