Chicago Sky star Angel Reese expressed her gratefulness at one of her aspirations of featuring in a commercial during the WNBA Finals being fulfilled. Reese is currently in the offseason as her Sky team missed the playoffs.
During Game 4 of the WNBA Finals between the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx, the rookie posted on X (formerly Twitter).
She shared:
“Seeing myself in commercials while watching the WNBA finals is a dream…..”
Angel Reese has already been featured in several commercials, including one promoting the upcoming movie "Wicked," which tells the story of the witches of Oz and will be released in November.
In the ad, she is seen walking onto a court surrounded by reporters, sinking a 3-pointer and making a shush gesture.
In addition to her WNBA salary, Reese has secured numerous endorsement deals, partnering with brands such as Reebok, Beats by Dre and Reese's, among many others.
She has been active on X throughout the WNBA Finals, which feature Breanna Stewart (Liberty) and Napheesa Collier (Lynx). The duo are co-founders of Unrivaled Basketball League, a 3-on-3 women’s league in which Reese is set to compete this January.
The Chicago Sky last reached the finals in 2021, when they claimed their first championship by defeating the Phoenix Mercury. This year, the Sky missed the playoffs for the first time since 2018, ending a five-year streak.
Angel Reese reveals her WNBA salary not enough to pay rent
Angel Reese recently shared on Instagram Live that her WNBA salary is not enough to cover her living expenses. Reese revealed that her monthly rent is $8,000, totaling $96,000 annually, which is higher than her rookie-year salary of $73,439.
"I just hope y'all know, the WNBA don't pay my bills at all. I don't even think it pays one of my bills. Literally," she said.
While the WNBA doesn’t take up the full year, Reese makes additional income through her endorsement deals. During her final year at LSU, her NIL valuation was $1.8 million., and most of these deals carried over into her WNBA career.
After being drafted seventh overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Reese signed a four-year, $324,383 contract with the Sky, per Spotrac.
Reese has become a household name since turning pro and has even launched her own podcast called "Unapologetically Angel." The show has featured big-name guests such as Dwyane Wade, Sheryl Swoopes, Latto and most recently, GloRilla.
