In October 2023, Angel Reese signed a multi-year NIL deal with Reebok which relaunched its basketball brand under Shaquille O'Neal and Allen Iverson. Reese's contract with the company included a signature shoe expected to be released in 2026.

In light of branding, Reese shut down Los Angeles Sparks forward Dearica Hamby when she posted a picture of Jordan brand playing cards.

On Tuesday morning, Reese asked Hamby on X, formerly known as Twitter, when she would teach her how to play Spades, a card game. Phoenix Mercury guard Kahleah Copper then replied, saying that Hamby needs to teach both her and Angel Reese how to play spades.

Hamby responded with a gif of herself holding Jordan brand playing cards, writing:

"Got cards in my purse at all times."

Angel Reese then replied:

"Oh Mama D i’m sorry but i’m not playing with that brand of cards…"

Angel Reese and Kahleah Copper tease WNBA duo ahead of Unrivaled season

While Angel Reese plays for the Chicago Sky in the WNBA and Kahleah Copper plays for the Phoenix Mercury, the two are set to share the court in Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier's Unrivaled 3x3 league, which is set to tip off on Jan. 17.

The pair were both placed on Rose Basketball Club, which is coached by Nola Henry, and from the looks of things, the two have already created quite a bit of buzz. Over the weekend, the Mercury posted a clip of the two, joking that they were the frontrunners for the best Unrivaled comedic duo.

In response, Kahleah Copper posted an emoji covering its mouth, while Reese posted:

"You can always come… nvm we got 10 weeks to chat."

Whether just fun banter or not, with the Unrivaled season right around the corner, this likely won't be the last time we hear talk about the two joining forces in the WNBA.

Although Reese is under contract for several more years, Copper will hit free agency after the 2025 WNBA season, opening the door for the two to link up in the W.
