Angel Reese has become one of the biggest women’s basketball stars in 2024. After wrapping up her successful collegiate career at LSU early this year, Reese was picked seventh overall by the Chicago Sky in this year’s WNBA draft. She followed it up with an impressive season in the WNBA, coming up runner-up to Caitlin Clark for Rookie of the Year.

With high dreams in mind, Reese is looking forward to a better season next year, unlike what a TikTok trend predicted. She was “pissed off” when a TikTok filter predicted her 2025 with a bride emoji, two peach emojis and a beach emoji.

“just pissed me off,” Reese captioned in her post.

The emojis signified a wedding, while the latter denoted a vacation-filled year for the WNBA star.

It was not clear why Reese got ticked off by the TikTok trend, but the emojis were a far cry from what she had accomplished this year.

Reese had a historic rookie season to mark her arrival in the WNBA. She set the record for most consecutive double-doubles by a WNBA player with 15, and the most double-doubles by a rookie with 26. She also recorded the most rebounds by a WNBA player ever with 446, on top of having the most offensive rebounds with 172.

Reese’s first year ended early after sustaining a season-ending wrist injury, which also impacted Chicago Sky’s playoff aspirations.

Reese averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game as the Sky finished the year with a 13-27 win-loss record.

Angel Reese believes she belonged in the WNBA after her first year

After her final rookie game this season, Angel Reese reflected on her season, with special mention to her last bucket.

“What a year. I never would have imagined the last bucket of my rookie season would be a 3 but maybe that was God saying give them a taste of what they will be seeing more of in Year 2 lol🥲Through it all, I have showed that I belong in this league even when no one else believed,” she wrote in an X post.
"All I have ever wanted was to come into the W and make an impact. I can confidently say I have done that and will strive to keep doing so. I’m filled with emotions right now that I have a season ending injury, but also filled with so much gratitude for what is next… You’ll still see me being the biggest cheerleader on the sideline! And Unrivaled league, see you soon! 💞😇,” she added.

Reese will be back in action once the new Unrivaled League rolls around in January in Miami.
