Angel Reese will make her debut in the 3x3 Unrivaled league on Jan. 17 in Miami. Ahead of that, she’s already developing strong chemistry with Kahleah Copper of the Phoenix Mercury.
Reese and Copper are teammates for Rose BC, alongside Chelsea Gray, Lexie Hull, Brittney Sykes and Azurá Stevens. Before the league’s launch, the Mercury playfully declared the pair as the “front runners for unrivaled comedic duo.”
As Copper shared the Mercury’s post on X (formerly Twitter), Reese replied with a playful quote tweet, telling her:
“Grandma you can always come… nvm we got 10 weeks to chat🤭.”
At 22, Reese is eight years younger than the 30-year-old Copper.
Unrivaled tips off in two weeks and runs for eight weeks, with games held three times a week — on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The 2025 3x3 tournament season will take place in Miami, and will be televised on TNT and TruTV, as well as streamed on Max.
Angel Reese hypes up Lexie Hull during Unrivaled photoshoot
While Angel Reese has often been pitted against Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark, that hasn’t stopped her from supporting Lexie Hull, Clark’s Fever teammate. Reese and Hull are teammates for Rose BC.
In a social media video, Reese enthusiastically cheered for Hull as she posed for the Rose BC photoshoot.
“Go, Lex! Okay! Okay! Okay!” Reese screamed as Hull got her photos taken.
Reese also shared a photo of herself in her Rose BC jersey on X, which has garnered nearly 600,000 views.
In the picture, Reese flaunts her new curly brown hair while holding a rose, a fitting tribute to her team’s name. The Rose jersey is green.
The Reese-Clark rivalry will not carry over to Unrivaled, at least not in its first season, as Caitlin Clark, the TIME Athlete of the Year, has made it clear she won’t be taking part.
While Caitlin Clark won’t be competing in the inaugural season of Unrivaled, she has shown interest in potentially joining in future seasons.
