Angel Reese has made a special request to her fans to help celebrate former Chicago Sky guard Kysre Gondrezick's 27th birthday on July 27. Reese wants to have a nice detail with the former No. 4 overall pick and turned to social media to ask fans for an edit:
"(somebody make me a lil edit for me to post of me & kysre of all our videos together cause it’s my pookie birthdayyyyy) 🤭 yall go tell Ky happy 27th birthday!!! @KysreRae miss you girlies🥺"
Angel Reese and Gondrezick became close friends during their time together with the Chicago Sky. While Reese, a WNBA rookie, was one of the league's best players in the first half of the season, Gondrezick struggled for playing time and was waived by the team last month.
This hasn't stopped the two from remaining close and supporting each other whenever they can. Last week, they were spotted together with Jaylen Brown at a Summer League game, which drew a lot of attention.
After they linked up in Las Vegas, Reese shared a video with Gondrezick on Instagram, alongside a touching message:
"I missed you ughhhh 😭"
Kysre Gondrezick thanked Angel Reese for support
The Chicago Sky preseason was different for Angel Reese and Kysre Gondrezick. The former LSU star was a key player for the team heading into the 2024 season, while Gondrezick was fighting for a spot on Theresa Weatherspoon's roster.
During a preseason game in May, Reese and Gondrezick were seen hugging and holding hands on the bench, clearly showing support from the self-proclaimed 'Chi Barbie.' Gondrezick was grateful for the gesture and thanked the forward on X/Twitter:
"This means everything to me 🥺🩷@Reese10Angel"
Although she ultimately made the team, Gondrezick was cut by Chicago a couple of months into the season. Reese was affected by this decision but didn't miss the chance to link up with Gondrezick again and show her some love.
