The Chicago Sky didn't have the season they hoped for last year. Despite adding young stars like Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese in the 2024 WNBA Draft, it wasn't enough to secure a playoff spot.
That's why Angel Reese wants to do her part to help her franchise get to the next level. With her upcoming participation in the new 3-on-3 'Unrivaled' tournament, she plans to use the opportunity to lure talent to the Windy City.
"Come to Chicago," Reese told the Chicago Sun-Tribune when asked about her pitch for free agents.
As simple and straightforward as it might be, it shouldn't take long before the Sky land some prominent players. On top of their duo of young stars, they will also have the No. 3 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, so they're in a position to build a strong foundation for years to come.

Angel Reese talks about her love for fashion
Besides being one of the biggest names in the entire women's basketball scene, Reese has also made a name for herself in the fashion industry. Her endorsement with Reebok paved the way for her personal product collection "Angel's Picks," and she's already been at the Victoria's Secret fashion show and the 2024 Met Gala.
That's why it wasn't surprising to see her being chosen to be featured on Vogue magazine's Winter 2024 cover.
When asked about that honor, she talked about how she had always been drawn to fashion, even though her passing for basketball was also present from a young age:
“It’s always been both: basketball and fashion,” Reese told Vogue. “But I was a fashion girlie from young too. Like—let me find this picture my mom sent. I was always in my mom’s closet, putting on her stuff.
"I liked to carry a purse. Hair done. I wanted to look put together. I still do. I used to watch America’s Next Top Model with Tyra and practice my walk in the living room,” she added.
Angel Reese has found a perfect balance between her two loves. She's a rising star in the women's basketball scene, and she's already set several marks despite just being in the WNBA for one season. However, she's also living up to her 'Bayou Barbie' nickname with her appearance on fashion shows.
