On Monday, Kiara Marsh wrote a long message on Instagram to greet her husband on his 37th birthday.

“Honey, you are a gift. You pour into the cups of all those who come in contact with you; today I hope yours overflows. Grateful to live this life with you. I love you. Happy birthday, babe. 🙏🏾💜”

The new Chicago coach had a simple reply to the heartfelt words:

Scrutiny increased around Tyler Marsh when he was named the Chicago Sky’s next play-caller. Marsh gets his head-coaching debut after serving under Becky Hammons’ staff in Las Vegas, where he won two championships. He will lead a team that includes Angel Reese, one of the biggest stars and top draws in the WNBA.

Marsh is a proven winner. He was an assistant coach with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers when the team won the 2013 championship. The birthday celebrant became the player development coach of the Toronto Raptors in 2018. The following year, they won the NBA championship behind a stacked roster led by Kawhi Leonard, Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry.

Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky hope he can sustain his success now that he is the head coach.

Tyler Marsh has raved about Angel Reese in one of his interviews

Since becoming the head coach of the Chicago Sky, Tyler Marsh's interviews usually involve questions about Angel Reese. In the “No Cap Space WBB” podcast on Monday, he had this to say about the WNBA Rookie of the Year runner-up:

(18:05 mark)

"I think she handled her rookie year great. I mean, you set a record in rebounding and, to me, it's still amazing that people kind of undervalue and undersell just what that was for a rookie.

"We can't take for granted just what Angel was able to do in her rookie year. And... she's a winner. She's doubted almost every year of her life and her career, and she continued to overcome, and that's something you can build on."

Marsh added that there is much to “build on” in Angel Reese’s game. He said he can't wait to work with her and the Sky once training camp starts.
