In Tuesday night's game against Connecticut, Sparks rookie Cameron Brink suffered an ACL injury in her left knee. The incident occurred in the first quarter when her strong drive to the basket resulted in a slip. With Brink expected to miss the remainder of the season, several WNBA stars supported the young rookie.
The Sparks forward shared the news on her Instagram account where she highlighted her focused mindset on getting back healthy on the court.
"You never think it will happen to you," Brink posted. "And despite all the hard work sometimes it does. This is hard to fathom but I know it will only make me stronger. I will not be derailed and I will continue to love this life — I'm not defined by basketball, but it something that I love deeply and I will work everyday to get back to it."
Responding to the post were several WNBA stars such as Angel Reese and Sabrina Ionescu, who all banded together in the comments section out of support for Brink.
"Love you barbie doll!"
Seattle Storm guard Nika Muhl gave words of encouragement to Cameron Brink.
"Sending you love, you got this," Muhl posted.
Chicago Sky forward Isabelle Harrison remained confident in Brink's recovery.
"Sending you so much love Cam! You'll be back even better," Harrison posted.
LA Sparks guard Kia Nurse supported her rookie teammate by reassuring her they are with her every step of this challenging part of her WNBA journey.
"You have 1000000000% got this! Just a bump in the road and I know your comeback will be incredible. We've got your back the whole way through ... love you girly pop," Nurse posted.
Sparks legend Lisa Leslie also joined in on the comments.
"Sending you my love," Leslie posted.
For as impressive as Cameron Brink looked in the big leagues, her rookie campaign will be cut short with this injury as she remains hopeful of a strong comeback season.

Aside from her comment, Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese shared a picture on her Instagram story of herself next to Brink during draft day. She included a heartwarming caption with the hope that Brink successfully recovers.
"I pray God wraps his hands around you and heals you back even better! Love you my barbie doll," Reese posted.
Regardless of how severe an injury is, these are professional competitors who scoff at the idea of being unavailable to suit up for a game.
Be that as it may, this sets up a great opportunity for Cameron Brink to rejoin her teammates next season with a driven energy.
