Chicago Sky All-Star forward Angel Reese took to social media to send a heartfelt message to her friend, singer-actress Teyana Taylor, on the occasion of her birthday on Tuesday. Taylor, who is also the ex-wife of NBA player Iman Shumpert, turned 34.

The 22-year-old basketball star shared a photo on her Instagram story of herself and Taylor dressed up at a recent fashion awards show. She expressed her admiration for the "Coming 2 America" artist, writing:

"Happy Birthday Teyboo. Literally the sweetest! Pray you have many more!! @teyanataylor."

Angel Reese and Taylor have been friends for some time and spend time together when possible, even with Taylor’s children from her marriage to Shumpert.

Reese recently completed an impressive rookie season in the WNBA, where her rebounding prowess helped her average double-double numbers: 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals in 32.5 minutes per game. Her stellar performance earned her an All-Star selection, second place in Rookie of the Year voting, and 12th place in the MVP race.

Taylor, meanwhile, recently finalized her divorce from Shumpert after filing last year. As reported by The Jasmine Brand, the judge awarded Taylor four marital properties with a combined value of around $10 million.

Shumpert was ordered to make a one-time settlement payment in the seven-figure range, pay $8,000 per month in child support, and cover private school fees for their daughters, Junie, 9, and Rue, 4.

Angel Reese prepares for inaugural season of newly formed Unrivaled Basketball League

While she enjoys time with friends like Teyana Taylor during the WNBA offseason, Angel Reese is also gearing up for her participation in the newly formed Unrivaled Basketball League, which begins in January.

She is among 36 professional players set to compete in the 3-on-3 league, founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty and Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx.

In an interview with The WAE Show, which dropped on Saturday, Reese spoke about what made her decide to play in Unrivaled, saying:

"For one, I'm staying in the states, I don't have to go overseas. I'm making 6 figures, I'm living in Miami during my offseason. I'm playing 34 of some of the best WNBA players, being able to get better. Some of the best coaches, we got T-Spoon (Teresa Weatherspoon), we got Phil (Handy), we got a lot of great coaches there. I'm excited to like really dial in and get better."

Angel Reese was drafted to play for the Rose Basketball Club in Unrivaled, alongside Chelsey Gray (Las Vegas Aces), Kahleah Copper (Phoenix Mercury), Brittney Sykes (Washington Mystics), Lexie Hull (Indiana Fever) and Azura Stevens (LA Sparks).

Unrivaled tips off on Jan. 17 and runs until March 10 in Miami, Florida.
