Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese took the floor for their game against the Dallas Wings on Saturday rocking a pair of Reebok Solution Mid at College Park Center on May 18. In particular, the Black Silver Metallic iteration of the basketball shoe was inspired by the design of basketball legend Allen Iverson.
The seventh overall pick in this year's WNBA draft has been continuously rocking the Solution Mid as she begins her journey as a professional player.
In her WNBA debut on Wednesday, Angel Reese sported the same shoes.
The Reebok Solution Mid features a mesh and synthetic upper designed for proper structure and durability. It also has foam midsole cushions to aid with landings. Its rubber outsole has a traction pattern for a more enhanced grip. A classic lace-up closure secures the fit. The shoe is sold for $80 as per the retail website StockX.com.
Angel Reese and the Sky battled against the Wings and secured an 83-74 win, to improve their record to 1-1 for the season. Diamond DeShields led the way for Chicago with 16 points while Reese had a near double-double of 11 points and nine rebounds in 25 minutes of play.
The Sky next play on the road on Thursday against the New York Liberty at Barclays Center.
Angel Reese looks to build on promising start to WNBA journey
The former LSU standout finished with 12 points and seven rebounds in their 87-79 loss to the Dallas Wings in her WNBA debut at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas on Wednesday.
Although Angel Reese felt positive about her first game, she acknowledged that she could still play better and vowed to do so moving forward. Speaking to the media after the game, she shared her thoughts on her debut performance, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times:
"It wasn't even nerves. I still feel like I didn't play my best game."
Arika Ogunbowale of the Wings, however, was impressed with what she saw:
"She's (Reese) a great player on and off the court. She's doing what needs to do for women, for the 'W'. This is her first game, obviously. She has a long career, but this is a good start for her."
Angel Reese played her second game against Dallas on Saturday in their back-to-back set and continued to be steady, helping the team exact payback against the Wings with a win.
