Angel Reese shows love to 5x Olympic medalist Gabby Thomas in 3 words

The stars were out at the 38th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards in New York City on Wednesday night. Among the star-studded crowd were two heroes in women's sports: WNBA star Angel Reese and five-time Olympic medalist Gabby Thomas.

The two exchanged kind words on social media during the event, with Reese showing love to Thomas with a post to her Instagram story.

"Literally a BEAUTY," Reese posted on Instagram with a snapshot of Gabby Thomas giving her speech at the ceremony.

Thomas spoke on behalf of New Balance at the event, which was nominated for Company of the Year. She has been represented by New Balance since 2018 and won gold in the 200m, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics while donning the brand.

Paris marked Thomas' second Olympic competition. In 2020, she won silver in the 4x100 relay and bronze in the 200m in Tokyo.

Gabby Thomas reciprocates love to Angel Reese

At a later point in the event, Gabby Thomas reciprocated the love shown by Angel Reese. Thomas shared a post on her Instagram story to show support for the Chicago Sky star.

"Living example you can do ANYTHING you dream of. Congrats @angelreese5," Thomas captioned her post of Reese.

Thomas' Instagram post captured Reese giving her speech after being named Style Influencer of the Year at the ceremony. Off the basketball court, Angel Reese is immensely passionate about fashion and her sense of style.

Reese is coming off her first season in the WNBA after being selected with the No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. The Sky star averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in her first season as a pro, breaking the WNBA single-season rebounding record in just her rookie year.

She was also named to the 2024 All-Star team and finished as the runner-up for the WNBA Rookie of the Year award.
