Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese's historic three-game streak of 20 rebounds ended on Wednesday in a 74-70 loss to the Washington Mystics at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Additionally, Reese was unable to extend her double-double streak, falling short of securing her 23rd double-double by three points.
Reese struggled offensively in the first half, managing only four points. However, the former LSU star came out revitalized after the break, displaying greater aggression on offense in the third quarter. The rookie added three points in the period, bringing her total to seven.
Despite not scoring many points, Reese's relentless pursuit of rebounds remained a standout aspect of her game. However, her scoring woes persisted in the fourth quarter, where she was unable to add to her tally.
Reese concluded the game with seven points on 30% shooting from the field. The 22-year-old struggled offensively, going 3-of-10 from the field without attempting a single 3-pointer in 34:44 minutes on the court. She shot 1-of-2 from the free-throw line.
Despite her scoring difficulties, the Sky rookie grabbed 14 rebounds, including four on the offensive end. Reese contributed two assists and one steal, but also committed six turnovers, finishing with a plus/minus of -3.
