Angel Reese and Rose BC won their first game in Unrivaled 2025, beating Breanna Stewart's Mist BC 71-66 in Saturday's skirmish. Reese had solid games in her first two outings. In Saturday's game, she played a season-low eight minutes, but that didn't impact the team much.
Reese was played off the floor, racking up four fouls while trying to limit Breanna Stewart, who was on fire all night, scoring 20 points on 10 of 18 shots. Reese scored only four points, going 2 for 6, missing several easy looks at the rim. Reese grabbed six rebounds and had three turnovers.
Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark's Fever teammate, Lexie Hull, who has teamed up with Reese in Unrivaled, had a breakout performance. Hull scored 19 points in 10 minutes, shooting 8 of 11. She added three rebounds and three assists.
WNBA fans mocked Angel Reese on X for not closing the fourth quarter and failing to contribute to her team in a win. One fan wrote:

"They called every foul on her and Lexi hull. They was trying everything to give the mist and Breanna Stewart the game"

Angel Reese's struggles, Lexie Hull's breakout: Closer look at Rose BC's win over Mist BC
Angel Reese and Rose BC were itching to get off the mark in Unrivaled to avoid being the only winless team after three games. The Mist BC were also on a forgettable 0-3 streak. It was a tough matchup from the get-go and became even tougher as Reese struggled to impact the game on either end.
She missed easy looks at the rim and was in foul trouble early in the bid to stop Breanna Stewart from allowing the Mist BC to create a separation. However, Lexie Hull was the unexpected hero of the night, with her 19 points in 10 minutes. She helped put pressure on the Mist BC defense, with Chelsea Gray also struggling in the first half.
Meanwhile, Kahlea Copper and Azura Stevens also played key roles early on. Copper had 18 points and four rebounds in 12 minutes, while Stevens tallied 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists on 5 of 10 shots in 10 minutes. Gray arrived late to the party, but it was a timely effort from her as she scored nine of her 12 points in the fourth quarter, including the game-winner.
