Angel Reese has had a great week in the WNBA. The Chicago Sky star was declared the Eastern Conference Player of the Week and booked her name in league history after breaking a 15-year-old record.
On Sunday, the Sky rookie registered 17 points and 14 rebounds in a loss to the Seattle Storm. Despite the loss, Reese had something to celebrate. She scored the most [13] consecutive double-doubles in a season in WNBA history.
For the special day, Sky owner Michael J. Alter sent a cake to Reese, congratulating his star rookie on the new record.
"Angel WNBA record consecutive double doubles," the text on the cake read.
Reese posted a picture of the cake on her Instagram story and thanked the Sky owner for the gift.
"When the owner brings you the cake. Thank you Mr. Michael."
Angel Reese is quickly rising to stardom in her rookie season and making a legitimate case for herself to win the Rookie of the Year award. This season, the Sky rookie is averaging 14.1 points, 11.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 20 games. She is also leading the league in double-doubles and rebounds.

Angel Reese has given some stellar performances in her rookie year with the Chicago Sky. While she might not have been able to get her team to sit among the contenders of the league, she has proved that the Sky can rely on her for a brighter future.
Last week, the seventh week of the WNBA, Reese went on a tear for her team and was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. Reese and the Sky played five games and ended up with a 2-3 record.
She now also has the most consecutive double-double games [13] in WNBA history.
Reese took to her X, formerly known as “Twitter,” to react to her amazing week.
"God don’t play bout me. BLESSED,” she wrote.
Throughout week seven, Reese averaged 16.8 points and 14.0 rebounds per game, putting her alongside two-time defending champion A'ja Wilson, who was named the WNBA's Western Conference Player of the Week.
Reese is now ranked second among the fastest players to reach 275 points and 225 rebounds. Yolanda Griffith did it in 19 games while Reese did it in 20 games.
