The Chicago Sky rookie is overwhelmed by the fans' support now that she's playing for the windy city. Reese took the time to give some shout-out to her supporters in Chicago.

"So many people done reached out to me. The love from Chicago is running deep and going crazy!"

Reese may be the Chi Barbie now but she stressed that she's still the Bayou Barbie hoops fans know and love.

"I am the Chi Barbie, I'm the Baltimore Barbie, and I am always gonna be the Bayou Barbie!"

The Chicago Sky will open their regular season against the Dallas Wings on May 15 at 8 pm ET.

NBA Legend Shaquille O'Neil to Angel Reese after the WNBA draft: "I'm proud of you."

On draft night, Angel Reese was selected seventh overall in the WNBA by the Chicago Sky, four-time NBA champion, Shaquille O'Neil was there to support her at the event.

In a recent interview with People.com, he 15-time NBA All-Star star said that he has a special connection with Reese because she's the same age as his daughters.

"She's the same age as my children, so I only want the best for her," Shaq said. "And when you have daughters, you know how to use that calm voice."

After being selected by the Chicago Sky at the draft, Shaq told Reese he was proud of her.

"I'm happy for you. I'm proud of you. If you need anything, you call me," O'Neil revealed.

Shaq has become Angel Reese's mentor during the 2023 NCAA season at LSU. They have shared a bond since. From one LSU player to another, The Big Diesel can relate to the Chicago Sky rookie.

"I know things that she went through, I know what she's going through, I know what's about to happen to her and I could give her advice," Shaq said.

As she embarks on her new journey in the WNBA, the 2000 NBA MVP says there are similarities between his game and Angel Reese's. O'Neil added that Reese shouldn't be apologetic about her passion for the game.

"She plays with a certain passion — and a lot of times, you can't really understand that until you understand where a person comes from," the Big Diesel said. "I don't want her to apologize. I want her to stay beautiful, stay classy and continue making a name for herself and taking care of her family."
