Caitlin Clark broke a lot of records during her four-year stay with the Iowa Hawkeyes from 2020 to 2024. However, one of her records is in jeopardy after JuJu Watkins had another stellar outing in USC's win over the Michigan Wolverines.

Watkins has become the most popular Trojans basketball player after Bronny James left the men's program earlier this year to enter the 2024 NBA Draft. The LA native entered her second season as one of the best players in women's college basketball.

The 19-year-old star shone again on Sunday, finishing with 31 points, five rebounds and seven assists in USC's 78-58 victory against the No. 23 Michigan. It was Watkins' 17th career 30-point game, which means she's close to breaking Clark's record of 23 in her first two NCAA seasons.

The season is still not at the midway point, so JuJu Watkins has plenty of time to break Caitlin Clark's record. Watkins, along with UConn's Paige Bueckers, has become the face of women's college basketball after Clark finished her fourth year at Iowa.

USC's young star is averaging 24.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.4 steals and 2.0 blocks per game. Her scoring numbers are down, but she's shooting better at 46.2% from the field and 36.5% from beyond the arc.

In her second season for the Hawkeyes, Clark averaged 27.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 8.0 apg and 1.5 spg. She went on to break the NCAA's scoring record held by "Pistol" Pete Maravich, leading Iowa to back-to-back championship title games.

Clark was drafted first by the Indiana Fever, turning the franchise's fortunes around and winning the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year. She also finished fourth in WNBA MVP voting and was named Time Magazine's Athlete of the Year.

On the latest episode of Kennedy Saves The World, Fox News analyst Kennedy Montgomery praised Caitlin Clark for the influence she has had on girls' and women's sports.

Montgomery explained that Clark will inspire the next generation of women's athletes, not just in basketball, but in other sports.

"Caitlin Clark will have a long, illustrious, decorated career where she inspires millions and millions of girls and young women to play a sport that she loves," Montgomery said.
"She wants everyone to play well and she wants to inspire young girls and young women to be awesome basketball players. ... She's a cultural lightning rod."

Clark has proven herself to be a box office attraction, not just in Indianapolis but throughout the United States. WNBA teams have almost sold out all of their games featuring her and the Indiana Fever.

She has adjusted to life as a pro player, moving past her early struggles to establish herself as one of the best players and biggest stars in the league.
