Caitlin Clark had a record-shattering WNBA rookie season. The Indiana Fever star, however, was severely doubted by critics. A ranking of the league's top 10 offensive players showed Clark seventh, listed below Storm's $500,000 All-Star, Jewell Lloyd.

The analysis said that Lloyd's long-distance shooting stood out, which helped her find a spot in the rankings. However, the Storm guard shot 36.0% from the floor, including 27.4% from 3. Lloyd averaged 19.7 points per game. Meanwhile, Clark, as a rookie, averaged nearly the same points as her Storm counterpart (19.2) and shot 41.2%, including 34.4% from 3.

While Clark's shooting efficiency didn't stand out as much, it was still significantly higher than Lloyd's. The Fever's star's fans seemingly picked up an issue online after the ranking went viral.

One fan accused the WNBA media of favoring black players more.

"Anti-white racism is entrenched in the NBA. Caitlin could put up MVP number to next 10 years and these b*tches will still rank her below top-5."

Another called out the publication claiming the list was made through artificial intelligence:

"They fed AI a ppg list, and clicked publish"

One fan tweeted:

Another posted:

"CC easily #1 she has generated more points than anybody else and combine that with other offensive statistics. Trash ass league run by trash clowns," one fan wrote.
"Them mfs just google stuff and post it without any basketball knowledge involved," another added.

Caitlin Clark enters her sophomore WNBA season with great expectations

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever enter the 2025 season with great expectations. After making the playoffs in her rookie year with a 20-20 record, Clark seems accustomed to the pros following a rough start. Not just that, the Fever have also hired a new coach, Stephanie White, whose philosophies align well with Clark's style.

The Fever will also likely have continuity, with most players expected to return for another season. For Indiana, its core depends on Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston's one-two punch. They seemingly struck an excellent partnership last year, and with more time together, their chemistry will only improve, especially under White's guidance.
