Arike Ogunbowale drops 4-words in response to Flau'jae Johnson's glowing praise

Following Flau'jae Johnson's praise for Arike Ogunbowale ahead of her Unrivaled debut, the Dallas Wings star dropped a four-word response for the LSU guard on Saturday.

Minutes into Ogunbowale's debut for the Vinyl BC in the 3x3 league on Friday, Johnson took to X, formerly Twitter, to share that Ogunbowale is her favorite player ever.

"Now yall know arike is my fav play ever," Johnson tweeted followed by a string of emoticons.

Ogunbowale gave her response to the praise via a comment on ESPN's Instagram post highlighting Johnson's tweet.

"that’s my girl fasho!" Ogunbowale wrote.

Arike Ogunbowale is the captain of Vinyl BC and plays alongside Rae Burrell, Rhyne Howard, Aliyah Boston, Jordin Canada and Dearica Hamby. They made their Unrivaled debut with a 79-73 win over Rose BC, which features Flau'jae Johnson's former LSU teammate, Angel Reese.

NBA legend Dwyane Wade was in awe of Arike Ogunbowale and her Vinyl BC teammate Dearica Hamby's game-winning play to begin their Unrivaled season with a win. Reacting to a video of the play shared by the team's Instagram handle, Wade took to the comment section to express his admiration.

"Yall so 🔥🔥🔥. It’s only right 🫡," Wade wrote on the post.

The play featured Arike Ogunbowale and Dearica Hamby recreating an iconic play by Dwyane Wade and LeBron James when they were teammates at the Miami Heat. For their final play of the game, Ogunbowale made a flashy assist to Hamby before running off the court as Hamby gave Vinyl a six-point lead to close out the contest.

Dearica Hamby also commented on the post, highlighting that they had to pull off Wade and James' iconic move while in Miami.

"Dwade - bron… only right in Miami 😂😂 @arike_ogunbowale," Hamby posted.

Arike Ogunbowale concluded the game with 10 points, one rebound, two assists and a steal, while Hamby put up 17 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks. Rhyne Howard led the Vinyl BC's victory charge with 33 points along with six rebounds, one assist, a steal and two blocks.

The Vinyl basketball club will now take on the Phantom BC on Monday for their second game in the inaugural season of Unrivaled.
