After a season where she won MVP in the WNBA and the Olympics, A'ja Wilson appears to be thriving on and off the court. Fans recently erupted on social media following news regarding one of her endorsement deals.
On Tuesday morning, Shams Charania reported that Wilson has agreed to a six-year contract extension to remain with Nike. The figure has not been revealed but is among the biggest shoe deals for a women's basketball player.
As news of A'ja Wilson's deal began circulating online, fans poured in with an assortment of reactions.
Fans were more than pleased to see the Las Vegas Aces star land a lucrative deal, and they feel it was more than deserved given her play on the court.
"Best player in the league. Very well deserved," one fan said.
"Can’t wait to get a pair of A’Ones," another fan said.
"Long over due.. Congrats!!!," Said one fan.
Wilson is fresh off her most dominant season as a pro, averaging 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.6 blocks. Along with her pair of MVPs and gold medal, the Aces center also set a new single-season scoring record in the WNBA.
A'ja Wilson reacts to inking new shoe deal with Nike
Along with fans pouring in with reactions, A'ja Wilson also got in on the fun. She posted a photo on her Instagram story to share her thoughts on sticking with the iconic brand.
In the caption of her post, Wilson wrote Nike's famous "Just Do It" tagline while mentioning that she'll be with them for the next six years.

With the deal still being new, there is no telling just how much A'ja Wilson is set to earn. However, based on previous deals, an estimate could be made.
In the initial reporting, it stated that Wilson inked one of the richest deals for a women's basketball player. Earlier this year, Caitlin Clark inked a $28 million contract with Nike. Though it's worth mentioning that her deal is two years longer. Based on the wording of the reporting, it's fair to assume that Wilson's new deal could be in the ballpark of this figure.
Another interesting development of this will be if Wilson gets her own signature shoe line. Nike has made shoes for WNBA stars in the past, most recently New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu. As arguably the top player in the WNBA right now, Wilson is more than deserving of her own shoe.
