Chicago Sky rookie phenom Angel Reese continues to grab the limelight, whether she is on the court or not. Leading into Tuesday’s showdown against the Las Vegas Aces, fans were excited to see Reese’s rematch against WNBA Finals MVP A’ja Wilson. The Sky may be on the road, but “Chi Barbie” did not lack any supporters.
Reese’s pregame outfits have become quite the spectacle on gamedays. She didn’t disappoint when she showed up at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Sin City wearing a sky-blue bodysuit, which promptly caused a stir on social media.
Fans on X reacted to the style Angel Reese pulled off:
“Chi-Town Barbie always looking good.”
One fan only had his eyes on the color of the bodysuit:
“That sky blue”
Another fan spelled out what was quite obvious:
“Looking Amazing As She Always”
Somebody who hasn’t worn the outfit yet already declared:
“Comfy!!”
Per journalist Nick DePaula, Angel Reese’s outfit, mainly the bodysuit and the sneakers, is a teaser from the Reese x Reebok collaboration. Called the Lux Bodysuit and the Premier Road VI shoes, they will come out late this season for fans.
Reebok’s choice of color for the sneak peek makes sense. Since Reese plays for the Chicago Sky, the outfit paid homage to the team’s colors. Some other colorways are likely available, but for now, the light sky blue will hype up fan interest.
Angel Reese could start another double-double streak
Angel Reese’s off-court game is on point, but what she does for the Sky will always get more coverage. The rookie forward’s record of 15 straight double-doubles ended in the Chicago Sky’s 81-67 loss to the New York Liberty on Saturday. She finished that game with eight points and 16 rebounds.
A new streak could be on the way following Reese’s output against the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday. The “Chi Barbie” tallied 13 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Chicago has 16 regular-season games left, so if she can keep piling up double-doubles, she will break her own WNBA record when play resumes.
The league will take a break for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Angel Reese wasn’t selected to join Team USA, but 12 other WNBA players will be on that team to compete for the gold medal. League action will be back in mid-August when the Sky hosts Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury.
The next time fans will see Reese, she will be in the All-Star Game on July 20, where she will team up with Caitlin Clark.
