Kahleah Copper has been one of the most productive players in the 2024 WNBA season for the Phoenix Mercury. Ahead of Mercury’s marquee clash against Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever, Copper left one plea for the fans who will watch her play.

Expressing her annoyance with bettors trying to parlay her performance, Copper jumped on X to light-heartedly complain to fans who blame her for ruining their bets during games.

“Take me off yall parlay before I start cursing yall back out…🫶🏾,” said Copper in a post on X.

Copper will be playing in one of the most high-profile games in the season as Mercury's superstar veteran Diana Taurasi faces Fever’s rookie and this year’s top overall pick, Caitlin Clark, for the first time on Sunday, at 3 P.M. Eastern Time.

Kahleah Copper is expected to be one of the top scorers for the game, as she tallied 24 points in her last outing against the Los Angeles Sparks. However, as one of the top players in the game, she may not see her social media message bear any results. The WNBA has grown much as a league, and sports betting has been a custom for many fans, changing how spectators watch games, especially in prominent leagues.

Kahleah Copper’s Mercury and the Fever have been gaining momentum for their performances in the past 10 games. Both teams have won six of their last 10 matchups and have been steadily rising in the WNBA standings.

Kahleah Copper moves up in the WNBA MVP ladder

Kahleah Copper has been slowly sneaking her way up the WNBA MVP ladder, displaying consistent numbers for the Mercury.

Copper is averaging 22.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game to lead her team in points this season. With her impressive numbers across the board, Copper has been ranked fourth in Sportskeeda’s latest MVP ladder, only behind Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson, Connecticut Sun’s Alyssa Thomas and Minnesota Lynx’s Napheesa Collier.

The athlete has also been shooting well this season, making 43.7% of her shots from the field, 35.3% from the three-point area and 79.8% from the free-throw line. Kahleah Copper has also recorded five 30-point games so far this season, while only having two single-digit scoring games. Her resume speaks of her caliber as she led the Chicago Sky to the 2021 WNBA title, where she won the Finals MVP honors.

However, the Mercury needs to rack up more wins to position themselves better in the 2024 WNBA standings.
