Breanna Stewart hyped up her New York Liberty teammate Sabrina Ionescu after the latter joined the 'Unrivaled' league in a wild card entry. Ionescu's entry into the league was a big positive for the tournament, especially after Kelsey Plum pulled out of it last month.

After the Unrivaled social media handle made the post on Instagram, Breanna Stewart joined fans to welcome her WNBA teammate. She clearly looked excited about her Liberty teammate joining the league.

"Yeah sabby!!" Stewart wrote in the comment section.

Ionescu filled the last wild card spot in the 3X3 basketball league. She will join Marina Mabrey, Satou Sabally and Breanna Stewart on the roster.

Earlier, Ionescu had her reservations about joining the league. She had said that she likes to spend her offseason with her husband and she was happy with that. However, she was still curious about other players joining the league and would rethink her decision.

The video also showed Breanna Stewart convincing Ionescu on camera. Stewart had said that she would continue to convince her teammate.

JuJu Watkins opens up about investing in Breanna Stewart-Napheesa Collier-led Unrivaled league

JuJu Watkins is among the list of investors in the 'Unrivaled' league co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier. She joined big names including her USC coach Dawn Staley among the list of investors supporting the league.

However, Watkins is not planning to just input her money into the 3X3 league. She has every plan to step on the floor and help the game develop to another level. In conversation with Sarah Spain on the "Good Game With Sarah Spain" podcast, Watkins spoke about possibly playing in the Unrivaled in the future.

"Yes, for sure," Watkins said. "I'm just really committed to growing the game the best way I can. If I'm able to do that now, that's what I'm gonna do. I'm super excited to be a part of this new wave. Hopefully, we play in the league someday." (38:08)

It was last year that Stewart and Napheesa Collier announced the inaugural 3X3 league. Since then, the league has attracted investors like Warner Bros., Discovery, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Carmelo Anthony.

Unrivaled has been largely welcomed by the WNBA players and found participation of several stars. The star power is still something that they need to upgrade, next season. A'ja Wilson and Caitlin Clark, two of the biggest stars in the WNBA, haven't shown their interest in playing in the league.

Moreover, commitment from other big stars will also depend on how much success "Unrivaled" has in its inaugural season.
