Angel Reese's alma mater, the LSU Tigers, will face the South Carolina Gamecocks on Friday in a highly anticipated women's basketball clash.
The Tigers are 20-0 this season, while the Gamecocks are 18-1. While LSU has the better overall record, the team is just 5-0 in the conference standings. South Carolina, meanwhile, has a 6-0 conference record.
Because of that, South Carolina is ranked first in the Southeastern Conference. With a win on Friday, Reese's LSU Tigers could hand the team its first loss, unseating it from the Southeastern throne.
Ahead of the game, Reese weighed in on the game on X:
"BRING YO BADDEST B OUT TODAY! @LSUwbkb Rocking with yall today!"
Heading into the game, South Carolina is a big favorite on most major sportsbooks. On DraftKings, the Gamecocks are -375 favorites while LSU is a +295 underdog.
Based on the current odds, it would take a $375 bet on South Carolina as the favorites to profit $100, while a $100 bet on LSU could return a profit of $295 on top of the original bet.
Angel Reese and Rose BC gear up for second week of Unrivaled basketball while searching for their first win
While Angel Reese's focus tonight might be on LSU and South Carolina, the WNBA All-Rookie Team standout is preparing for a big weekend ahead with Rose BC.
In the first weekend of Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier's Unrivaled 3x3 basketball league, Reese and Rose BC went winless over two games. In Friday's season opener, the team lost a hard-fought battle against Vinyl BC, with Reese posting a 10-point 14-rebound double-double.
The following night, Reese and Rose BC dropped another hard-fought game against Napheesa Collier's Lunar Owl's BC.
The team will look to push its season record to .500 when it plays Mist BC on Saturday and Laces BC on Monday. So far, Mist is 0-1 on the season. Meanwhile, Laces BC is 2-0 after a win over Mist on Monday.
After the end of the Unrivaled season in mid-March, Reese will be back in action two months later when the 2025 WNBA season tips off.
