For a second straight exhibition game, LeBron James had to bail out Team USA with another clutch performance. James put on another show in London, England in the Americans' 92-88 victory over FIBA World Cup Champions Germany. They went 5-0 in the USA Basketball Showcase ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

"King James" finished the game with 20 points, six rebounds and four assists. He took over in the final four minutes, scoring 11 straight points for Team USA. It was a vintage performance from the LA Lakers superstar, who was fairly quiet up until that point when Germany was in the lead.

Joel Embiid also had his first big game of the showcase with 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Anthony Davis and Anthony Edwards came off the bench again to keep Team USA afloat. Davis, as well as Jrue Holiday, were also huge defensively in the fourth quarter.

Several current and NBA players reacted to LeBron James' vintage performance on Monday in London against the defending World Cup champions. Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies, Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers and ESPN's Kendrick Perkins were among those who were enamored by James' output.

"Bron been hooping!!" Morant wrote.
"BRON SO NICE," Maxey posted.
"That grown man strength hits different huh? Bron out here bullying these young boys. God Bless America," Perkins tweeted.

Other players such as two-time NBA champion Quinn Cook proclaimed LeBron James as the greatest ever, while "Gil's Arena" regular Rashad McCants couldn't believe what he saw. ESPN's Austin Rivers broke it down by claiming that the LA Lakers are close to being a championship team because of LeBron and Anthony Davis.

"BEST PLAYER EVER !!! WE WILL NEVER SEE THIS AGAIN MAN! BRON THE GOAT," Cook claimed.
"It just look nasty. Thats all im sayin," McCants commented.
"When you watch USA basketball and realize the two most dynamic players thus far are two Lakers players…you realize they're not far behind in competing for a chip. That window can't be closed considering I'm watching them be the best on the BEST team in the world…," Rivers remarked.

LeBron James to be a flag bearer at the Olympics

LeBron James continues to make history at the age of almost 40 and in his fourth Olympics. James will become the first men's basketball player to become the flag bearer of the United States in the Olympics' opening ceremony.

According to USA Basketball's official statement, the LA Lakers star was nominated by Golden State Warriors star and fellow Team USA teammate Steph Curry.

James joins Sue Bird and Dawn Staley as the only basketball players to carry the American flag in the Olympics' opening ceremony. Bird did it in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Staley did it in the 2004 Athens Olympics.
