Caitlin Clark has made an excellent impression with big league players. The record-breaking rookie is turning a lot of heads, and some of the newest additions to the NBA are quick to praise her. In a Bleacher Report interview, rookies were asked to pick one WNBA player to pair up with for a 2-on-2 game. Two names stood out: Caitlin Clark and A'ja Wilson, the league's future and present.
Players like Rob Dillingham, Nikola Topić, Zaccharie Risacher and more cast their votes for a hypothetical partner. The video starts with Dillingham saying that Clark is "super nice," giving the 2024 No. 1 overall pick the first vote of the video. Nikola Topic, Ajay Mitchell and Kel'el Ware also named Clark, giving her four votes.
Jamal Shead spoke highly of Clark but also mentioned Angel Reese, noting that the Chicago Sky rookie complements his game better. After being told he needed to pick one, Shead chose Reese. Risacher and Jaylon Tyson also picked Reese, giving three votes to the Sky star.
Isaiah Collier, Jaylen Wells and Dillon Jones didn't hesitate and picked A'ja Wilson as their hypothetical playing partner. KJ Simpson also voted for the Aces star. Other players like Sabrina Ionescu, Jewell Lloyd, Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi, Breanna Stewart, Rhyne Howard and Skylar Diggins-Smith received votes, but none could get close to the top three.
Colin Cowherd calls out WNBA over Caitlin Clark's Olympic snub
Caitlin Clark didn't make the first cut for the USA Basketball Olympic roster as the decision-makers favored a veteran-led team. Although the rookie star had "no disappointment" after not making the roster, media personality Colin Cowherd was critical of the WNBA.
"Part of the silliness of not allowing her on the Olympic team is she was a very quickly improving player, and now, you kinda look silly," Cowherd said. "She's arguably the best playmaker in the league, arguably the second-best 3-point shooter in the league. I don't know, they seem valuable Olympic competition and she's not on the team."
Clark has taken her game to new levels, leading the Fever from a 1-9 record to an 11-15 standing at the All-Star and Olympic break. She's breaking records and is on pace to break more, but it seems she'll have to wait to play in the Olympics with Team USA.
