Caitlin Clark admits to being surprised at stealing spotlight from Taylor Swift

Dating back to her senior season in college, Caitlin Clark has emerged as one of the top names in sports. The All-Star guard recently opened up on just how prominent a figure she's become among sports fans.

During the offseason, Clark has engaged in multiple activities to enjoy her downtime. Among the notable events she's popped out for includes back-to-back nights at Taylor Swift's concerts at Lucas Oil Stadium.

While in the crowd, Caitlin Clark has countless fans come up to her to get a picture and or give her a friendship bracelet. The Indiana Fever star was very welcoming and put everything she was given on her arm no matter how many there were.

After being nominated as Time magazine's Athlete of the Year for 2024, Clark opened up on her experience at the Swift concerts. She was amazed at the number of people who came up and took the time to talk to her during the shows.

“People are just going crazy that I’m there,” Clark said. “I thought people would be so in their own world, ready to see Taylor. And it was just completely the opposite.”

The pop megastar gifted Clark multiple bags bags of merchandise and left her a note saying she's be an inspiration. Swift also stated that she wants to attend an Indiana Fever game with Travis Kelce once her tour is wrapped up.

"Swift gave Clark four bags of Eras Tour merchandise with a note saying Clark was inspiring to watch from afar. She said 'Trav and I' were excited to get to a Fever game now that the tour was winding down and invited Clark to attend a Chiefs game with her."

Caitlin Clark has also proven to be a big draw in the WNBA, but getting this celebrity duo to a game would be a notable feat. It would also be extremely beneficial for the league as a whole as it continues to grow in popularity.

Seeing that Clark is a big fan of Swift, receiving such kind words had to be a special moment for her. It is also a testament to all she's already been able to accomplish in the early stages of her career.
